Egypt is one of the few remaining countries in the world where artisans and craftsmen follow in the footsteps of their fathers and the fathers before them. Egyptian handiworks have been passed down over thousands of years - from the land of the Pharaohs to present day workshops in back alleys of Cairo and all along the nile valley. Almost all of these items are handmade by people struggling for a better standard of living.
